In France, at the time of World War II a mixture of rosemary and juniper berries were burned in hospitals to kill germs. In ancient Greece, students wore rosemary in their hair while studying, they believed it strengthened their memory. Rosemary essential oil is known to be antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, astringent, fungicidal, stimulant and a disinfectant. Use in Massage balms and oils for muscular and rheumatic relief.<br>
Its best-known use is as facial oil for extremely dry skin. It is less stimulating generally and much less of a mental stimulant, so it can be used in the evening. Patchouli Essential Oil Dark:  Pogostemon Cablin, Steam distilled<br>
Antidepressent, anti inflammatory, antiviral, astringent, expectorant. Patchouli Essential Oil  (Pogostemon Cablin) has a deep, rich earthy scent.  It is known to be an antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-viral, aphrodisiac, astringent, and a deodorant. This oil may help acne, athlete's foot, chapped skin, dandruff, dermatitis, eczema, wounds and wrinkles to name a few. It is a nice addition to soaps, lotions, foot products, body butters, bath oils, lotion bars, deodorants, massage oils, insect repellents, hair care products and salves.<br>
It is also used as a fixative in perfumes. Blends well with lavender, vetiver, cedarwood, geranium, clove, sandalwood, rose, orange, bergamot, clary sage, myrrh and oakmoss and grapefruit.  Patchouli is recognized by aromatherapists as being effective for combating nervous disorders, helping with dandruff, sores, acne, skin irritations and acne.<br>
The specific properties include use as an antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, anti-emetic, antimicrobal, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, antitoxic, antiviral, aphrodisiac, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, deodorant, digestive, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicidal, nerving, prophylactic, stimulating and tonic agent. In the perfumery industry, it is interesting to note that Patchouli improves with age, and that the aged product is what is preferred over freshly harvested. Peppermint Essential Oil:  Mentha Piperita, Steam Distilled<br>
It is a stimulating, invigorating, and cooling oil. It has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, astringent properties. It is a wonderful ingredient when used in foot care products, bath, scrubs, lip balms, lotions, soaps, and lotion bars. Peppermint is known to help relieve fatigue, muscle aches, headaches and stress. Peppermint can be overpowering so use less when including other essential oils as it can dominate their scent.
